Underground Storage Tank System, Chicago, Illinois
Mr. Green designed and supervised the installation of 200 linear feet of sheet-pile shoring, designed/permitted and rerouted 150 feet of combined storm-water/sanitary sewer, designed and supervised the installation of a temporary wastewater by-pass system, supervised site dewatering, water run-on/off control activities, and the excavation and disposal of 3,000 cubic yards of impacted soil. Mr. Green also performed bid preparation, bid awards, contract preparation, permitting and oversight of contractors doing structural steel work, sewer work, excavating, foundations, vault installation, sub-grade piping installation, paving, and concrete work. Mr. Green provided field management during the removal of five (5) 20,000-gallon underground storage tank systems and the installation of three (3) 35,000-gallon underground storage tank systems.
Haul Roads and Grading, Chicago, Illinois
Following the excavation of impacted soil and closure sampling, Mr. Green provided field management of the construction of approximately seven (7) acres of subbases for roads and parking areas capable of supporting heavy truck traffic.
The site remediation and road grading activities were conducted coincident
with the complete renovation of a 330,000 square foot building on the
site and were completed in less than four (4) months. This necessitated
Mr. Green's close coordination and frequent meetings with the numerous
contractors not associated with the remediation activities.
Mr. Green also provided health and safety oversight during installation of sub-grade facilities associated with a conduit mill inside the renovated building. The construction of the mill necessitated excavation of impacted materials and the protection of workers in the open excavation.
Haul Road, Northern Illinois
Mr. Green designed and managed the construction of a 1,200-foot haul road across incompetent soils to a work area on abandoned industrial land adjacent to wetlands. The haul road was designed and built to handle loads in excess of 40-tons.
Remediation Systems
Mr. Green has designed and managed numerous site remediation excavations
and installed groundwater pump and treat systems. Mr. Green has extensive
experience preparing bids, bid awards, contracts, and permits. Mr. Green
also has extensive experience providing oversight of sub-contractors doing
structural steel work, sewer work, electrical work, excavating, vault
installation, sub-grade piping installation, and concrete work.
